First week of school

We've all survived the first week back at school. I am exhausted and ready for a vacation again already, but my classes are good and I think it'll be a good year. Molly loves kindergarten so far and is happy to be back with all of her preschool friends. She summed up her first day as "great." When I was driving her to Alice's house after her first day, she told me that she didn't need me to walk her in because she's a big girl and kindergarteners don't need their Mom's help.

Summer's almost over!

We are starting to think about the school year starting again soon and looking at how much has happened this summer. Our back porch is finished, with shingles on the roof and everything. We have a lawn with actual grass. Our old trailer house finally got moved off of our property and it is SO much nicer!! Molly has lost two teeth and one of her "grown-up teeth" is already coming in. She seemed to be more excited about the tooth fairy leaving fairy dust in her room, than getting money. Austin turned two and we converted his crib to a toddler bed so that he won't hurt himself escaping over the side. He's not very into potty training and I really was hoping he'd be done with diapers by the time school started again. It's not going to happen!! Steve finished his first week of POST in Carson City. Only 9 more weeks to go, but who's counting?

Austin's Second Birthday

We celebrated Austin's second birthday yesterday in Manhattan at Art & Judy's house. Larci, Mike, & Veronica were visiting from Seattle and we had a good time. Austin liked his blue monster cake and he had fun opening presents. Molly also had fun opening Austin's presents. Last weekend Amanda brought her three kids to visit and they had alot of fun all playing together. Our backyard is starting to come together. Our grass is growing and our deck is up. Now we just need to get the roof over it. We're also looking forward to going camping at Great Basin National Park again this summer. Lisa is going to go with us this year and we're heading out next Thursday and spending a couple of nights. It should be fun!

Pink Room!!

Since we are finally getting settled into our new house, we promised Molly that we would paint her room this weekend. It is PINK!! We finished in about half a day and got everything moved back in and she feels "just like a princess." She still loves school and she's having fun in her ballet and tumbling classes.

Austin really loves to read stories now. He'll bring a book out of his room and say "story" until someone reads to him. He copies everything we say and he's talking a lot!

Almost Christmas

We have had an exciting couple of weeks. We finally got to move into our new house and it is really great! It's so nice to have more room to spread out, except all of our stuff looks smaller. I think my favorite thing is the dishwasher. I moved into my new classroom at school today, so I should be a moving expert by now. Last week we had our FFA Christmas party on Tuesday and Molly's Christmas program on Thursday. She sang songs with her class and the kindergarten class and then Santa came to school. Molly was very serious with Santa and she told him exactly what she wants. Austin is completely back to his old self after being so sick. He's starting to talk more and he can say "Molly" now. We decorated our house this past weekend and the kids are very excited for Christmas. We all are, really.

Home again!

We made it home from the hospital in Salt Lake City on Thanksgiving Day. We got home around 2:30 and it is definitely good to be home. Both of the kids are feeling great. Austin slept until 7:30 this morning and he's happy and running around like nothing ever happened. Steve and I are still feeling a little worn out, though.
